Thank You Country Music

I had the opportunity once again with my family to visit Branson Mo. over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Sure it's a heavily traveled tourist town. But the vibe and feel of the town is what got me. I was re-invigorated by the end of our three day stay. Every show we saw proudly spoke of God and honored our Veterans. Every shop we went to had a patriotic theme. This town wears their love of God and America on its sleeve. This invigorating vibe was every where. I loved it and I feel all is well in America because of it. There is a lot to say about our folks who make up our small towns and who make country music. They are grounded and as real as it gets.
My musical tastes are all over the map..from Metallica to Merle to Mozart..I just appreciate talent really for the most part. Country music is not my first choice of music but it does hold a special place in my heart . It is a refuge when I need a good message and to be drawn back to reality and to what really matters. It provides a stance on America and family and friends and God that does not give an inch. Its origins are in the dulcimer, violin, guitar, and Mandolin and later the banjo all brought over from Europe. It's in America's very roots. It, along with the Blues and Jazz define American music and each define a vibe and feel for our country's music.
Hard work, hard times and hard living are part of country music. Everyone from everywhere can relate to the pining and lonesome words of traditional country music. It assures us that we are not alone...even when we feel we are. America is alive and well and I saw it over Thanksgiving. Ironically, I saw it in the most unlikely place that I thought I would. In a music. In a place. A little get away is truly worth it.
I guess it's all about the message. So much we see and hear today is blurred and the gist of the message is hard to find. Things get complicated. Sometimes it's better to just keep it simple and defined...not so complicated. Finding the message in music is a beautiful thing.
I have to leave you with a bit of music... and a great message that country music so graciously provides.....
Take a Listen Here!!!!!!
God Bless America,
Thx LT.........

All is well in country music.....Dixie B**ches not included of course. Talk about your black eyes on an otherwise honorable musical genre.
Welcome back LT.
Lt. I too have rather eclectic tastes in music-Metallica to Mozart not so much- but bring on the older country and bluegrass and older rock , r&b and early 50s , 60s and 70s and I am hooked. I remember listening to "cowboy" music in the 40s and 50s but we had to keep it a secret or be ridden out of town on a rail. Hail to Hank Snow Johnnie Cash Merle Travis ...Haggard Loretta Lynn ad infinitum
