The Rock and Roll Lifestyle........Part II

It's been reported today that the cause of death for rock and roll icon and legend, Ike Turner, was.........."accidental cocaine overdose".  Here we go again! Were we not just down this road a couple of months back with the death of Quiet Riot frontman Kevin Dubrow? Ike had his demons, no doubt about it, what with his very well documented abusive treatment of Tina Turner. He also was a confirmed drug addict and abuser. But the man WAS 76 YEARS OLD for chrisssake. Why have you not changed your ways at that age? Maybe I'm naive in my thinking, but could this man not get help after half a century (or more) of drug abuse? Where are his peers in all of this? Oh wait, a lot of them are DEAD.

When are we going to stop hearing about entertainers, musicians, actors killing themselves by "accidental drug overdose ?" Hell, just yesterday there was news of a young actor, Renfro, winding up dead in his house at the tender age of.........26! Can't wait to see what killed this poor bastard. Anyone want to take some bets and place some odds on......"accidental drug overdose." There is nothing accidental about it, when you make a conscious decision to ingest drugs into your body, you just hope your number doesn't come up when you're done. Ike was definitely a troubled soul and didn't deserve to go out this way. Read the sad state of affairs here..... Check It Out

Keith Richards, I hope you're listening and watching all of this unfold. You guys are dropping like flies and it doesn't have to end that way.

Just a thought

    CG,

Ike had a good eye for talent when he discovered Tina...Look at how obvious the different paths are that they took. She broke free of addiction at an early (in Rock years) and became a super star. And she looks great to this day.

Ike never got anywhere without her and that may have fueled his addiction further. 76 years old and still snorting coke.

Could you imagine how cool it would be to still have Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin, etc around...That would be interesting.

    Thx LT..

Perpetual adolescence. No boundaries, guard rails, morals, feeling is better than thinking.
Snort enough coke = swiss cheese for brains.
