Mitt Romney Drops Out Of Presidential Race

I figured Mitt to drop out of the Presidential race, but wow not this soon. He threw a huge curve ball today at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) .  Laura Ingraham introduced him at CPAC as "The only conservative candidate running" Mitt who has been viewed by many as the carrier of true conservative ideals and values after the dropping out of Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuiani. The staunch conservative talking heads over the course of the past couple of weeks, have been stumping for Mitt and hammering McCain along the way.  Mitt after Super Tuesday was stunned by the delegates and states won by Huckabee and left far behind by John McCain in the delegate count.  As he stated in his speech today, I truly believe him when he said he stepped aside for the betterment of the country, he does not want to be the spoiler and pave a trail for the Democrats to the White House. McCain is set to be nominee and Huckabee set to be his VP.  Huckabee finds himself in a precarious situation in that he now needs to either compete with McCain or bow out soon and wait for an outreached hand from McCain. I look for Huckabee to do just that, despite the rhetoric we may hear from him over the coming days.

Mitt Romney just epitomized the nice guy. He looked Presidential, He had passion for his country. The nice guy that he is, the "Ward Cleaver" character trait, did not cut the mustard. There is unfortunatley a need for a sort harshness in politics today and Mitt was unable to bring that forth early on in his run.

Mitt Romney comes across to me as very real, the forgiveable Un-Hip At Times or the approachable father or uncle that can Take A Good Joke

I look forward to hearing more from Mitt Romney.....maybe in a future Presidential race.  The odd, difficult and often hard to grasp Republican landscape was not able to return Mitt's kindness. Timing is everything and it just wasn't Mitt's time.

 Thx LT.........

... Huck will NOT bow out .. He will hold tight until McCain offers him a deal for VP. This of course will be done in a smokey back room some where. Sorry, I meant in the septic tank . polishitasusual.

Huck has some thinking to do...He either has to get down and dirty and fight for this or work with McCain towards being the VP. It seems certain that Huck is the VP choice.

It would do both men justice to make this happen and move on as a team.

      Thx LT..

I can't put my finger on it, but I never trusted Romney. As for Huckabee, I don't think he'll get the VP for McCain. But I've been known to be wrong once or twice.
