Tim Allen............American Comedy Genius
Well, here we are America Matters. Another Friday, and as usual I am burned out on the serious and sobering stories of America this week. So another entry of American Comedy Genius felt like the perfect fit once again.
My fellow blogger and buddy, CG and I are simliar in that we watch very little network television. Seems the talent pool is shallow on the networks and uninviting these days. That being said, here lately me and my son have been watching re-runs on Nick at Nite and I have redicovered a show that truly IS genius. Tim Allen's "Home Improvement". This show has truly made us laugh out loud and this family is one that takes it's comedy seriously (or something) and to get an out loud belly laugh, says something about this show.
The show is based on the genius stand up comedy of Tim Allen that took HBO by storm in the late 80s and made it's way around the country virtually by word of mouth....."Hey you gotta check this guy out"...... So yeah, in case you forgot or missed it? Have fun and watch Tim Allen and where it all started....

Then from this great stand up act came the family oriented Home Improvement. A hilariously funny show that hits on all characterizations of the modern American family in a fashion we can all relate to. It had an eight year run that started in 1991. I had all but forgotten about this television gem until the wonders of cable and Nick At Nite brought it back. Our favorite scene is in this next clip.....We call it "the shirt" clip.... This scene kills me EVERYTIME! It's the very first scene on this clip Check It Out Here!
One of my favorite weekly lines from Tim and Home Improvement is....."If your tools don't say Binford on them. Chances are they're made by someone else"
I could have written about many other great examples of American Comedy Geniuses, but Tim Allen is king in our home right now....and his comedy is truly genius.
And what great TV show is there with out Great Bloopers!?

Genius is correct. The man is funny as hell. Had his share of stumbling blocks along the way, though. That was one network show that was worth watching. Now, network TV does NOTHING for me, absolutely NOTHING.
Give me the History Channel, Discovery, National Geographic, the Military Channel, FOX News and my daily does of ESPN and I'm perfectly fine.
But Tim Allen, genius.
