My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys.....
It's the weekend.. just remembering. Spending time with my kids and answering their questions about when I was a kid. Questions I feel honored to answer and I take joy in the curiosity my kids have...It makes it all the more special....
When I think about who my heroes were as a kid, most of them were "cowboys". Cowboy flicks that just happened to be my dad's heroes as well. The Cowboy flicks were ran on television through a good part of my childhood. The Lone Ranger was one of my faves that I would watch at 6:00am before I had to leave for school.
These Cowboy heroes were actually an extension of my dad's heroes. They had staying power. Tons of Cowboys. Bonanza, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Big valley, and The Cisco Kid. I watched all of the re-runs, on the weekends you could watch Hop-A-Long Cassidy and Tom Mix. Not to mention John Wayne, Randolph Scott etc... My heroes have always been Cowboys. I'm obligated to pass the Cowboy tradition on.......
