The Fort Hood Killings

I have tried to avoid the television footage of this tragedy because I knew how I would react. Last night was the first night I had seen any footage. I had listened to the radio and read about it, but last night viewing the television footage is when it really hit me the way I was afraid that it would although I feel no shame in my anger.
I welled up in the heroics behind this tragedy. Officer Kimberly Munley who shot Hasan four times and took fire herself, yet stopped him in his tracks. A first responder and well trained officer who became a hero in a chaotic four minutes and over 100 rounds fired. It would have much worse had she not acted in the brave way that she did.
There is confusion on the motives of this killer and why he did what he did. The media continues to dig and dig for reasons other than the fact that he is a muslim radical. As he fired the shots that killed 13 and wounded dozens of others, he was shouting "Allahu Akbar!" A phrase heard over and over in Iraq and Afghanistan by our soldiers. A phrase heard in Death To America rallies in Iran, a phrase most likely uttered in their last breath by the murderers who flew the planes into the Twin Towers.
There are articles already being printed that Hasan was a victim of racism because allegedly a soldier who arrived home from Iraq scratched his car and removed a "Allah Is Love" bumper sticker from Hasan's car. Hasan who was set to deploy to Iraq was apparently angry about his orders because he disagreed with our presence there. This from a Major in our armed forces.
To be attacked on one of our own military posts is far more damaging and lasting than some realize. I can tell you from living on a couple military posts that they are obviously uncommonly safe and secure and a great place to live. To have this security broached and to shake up a post, a post that is the largest in the world and also a post that has endured the most casualties and injuries from Iraq and Afghanistan than any other.....this is a deep wound and things will be different on every post from here moving forward.
Hasan, although he is being portrayed by the media as a nutbag an individual case of insanity, IS a radical Muslim and the proof will soon be coming forward. The current administration is asking us.......
"Not To Jump To Conclusions" Really? Not a surprise from a President so detached from the radical Muslim issue. He still wears his blinders and asks us to move on as if it were as simple as if we were rubberneckers moving down the highway by a simple fender bender.
America has a huge issue that has never quite been clear and most recently blurred in regards to what terrorism is and the poison of political correction. Both are silent killers and we as a country are being dragged down the road toward another horrible attack with a myopic view of the problem being regurgitated by this administration and it's mainstream media.
There is a serious issue here in terrorism, muslim silence and a lack of protest against it, and our own media covering up and making excuses for a lack of action on the part of our government and diluting the seriousness of these terrorist's actions or even allowing for them to be labeled as such.
Thx
